Sectors / Hockey clubs

Crisp lines.
Well-kept side pitches.

Many hockey clubs play on artificial turf but also manage natural grass: training pitches, youth fields, verges and the green zone around the clubhouse. VerdaMachina takes over that routine work, autonomously and emission-free.

The challenge

What every grounds manager recognises.

A robot takes over the repetitive work, without extra staff or complicated scheduling.

Grounds work relies on volunteers

Besides the artificial pitches, there is still a lot of green to maintain. That work is often left undone or rests on a few people.

Balls everywhere

After training, balls lie scattered across side pitches and edges. Picking them up takes time nobody has.

Sustainability ambitions

Clubs and municipalities want fewer emissions and less noise around the complex, including in green-space maintenance.

A well-kept calling card

Visitors, parents and sponsors see the complex as a whole. A scruffy edge detracts from the rest.

When to use it?

The robot follows your schedule.

You decide when the machine works. These are the three most common scenarios.

01

Outside training hours

The robot mows in the evening or at night, quietly and emission-free, and then docks itself.

02

After a training block

Collecting balls on natural grass and edges, so the next group can start right away.

03

Multiple zones

Side pitches, verges and the zone around the clubhouse are scheduled as separate work zones in the app.

Frequently asked questions

What hockey clubs ask us.

Can the robot work on artificial turf? +

Mowing and line marking take place on natural grass. For artificial turf there is the FJD GC01 Grass Collector Kit: it removes loose debris and leaves from artificial pitches and unloads the collected material. During the field audit we look at which zones are suitable.

How quiet is the machine? +

The machines are fully electric and considerably quieter than a conventional combustion-engine mower. That means they can also work in the evening or early morning without disturbing the neighbours.

Does the robot work on small, irregular zones? +

Yes. Zones are drawn in the app and scheduled separately. The FJD Rough Ranger and the FJD FRX are compact enough for side pitches and edge zones.

Who handles maintenance and breakdowns? +

VerdaMachina, from Belgium. You have one point of contact for installation, maintenance and support. See our service plans for details.
